Professor Sam Philip

Professor Sam Philip is a consultant Endocrinologist and the national clinical lead for SCI-Diabetes within the NHS education technology service. He has a strong interest and experience in software application development and research for chronic disease care, automated retinopathy detection, integrated screening, and telemedicine consultation.

He is the clinical lead (North) for Scottish health research register (SHARE). His clinical interests include Diabetes technologies and treatments for monitoring and supporting people with Diabetes.

He also leads on the development and delivery of teleconsultation service for people with diabetes in Orkney and Shetland and use of technology for supporting diabetes care in Grampian and the isles. He is involved in teaching and research activities within NHS Grampian and the University of Aberdeen (Institute of applied health sciences).
