Dr Samira Bell

Dr Samira Bell was appointed as Consultant Nephrologist at Ninewells Hospital in 2009 after completing her renal training in the West of Scotland. She obtained her medical degree (MBChB) in 1999 and MD in 2007 from the University of Glasgow.

She was awarded a NHS Research Scotland Fellowship funded by the Chief Scientists Office in 2013 and was appointed as a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Dundee in 2019. She is currently chair of the Scottish Renal Registry, co-chair of the UK Renal Health Data Network and Associate Postgraduate Dean for Academic training.

Her research interests include the use of routinely collected healthcare data for improving kidney health and care.
